Swedish Massage
Swedish massage is a full body massage characterized by medium to deep pressure and manipulation of soft tissue using strong smooth flowing movements to release stress and tension held within our fascia and soft tissue.
Deep Tissue Massage/Sports Massage
Deep tissue is a form of Swedish massage which focuses on specific areas of the body that have dis-ease using deeper pressure and techniques that involve passive movements and stretching. Through this it realigns the deeper layers of muscle fibres to bringing balance to the body and allowing natural movement function.
Holistic Massage
Holistic therapies focus is on the individual as a whole, rather than on physical symptoms alone. The aim is to restore wholeness, balance and health to emotions, mind and spirit as well as the physical body. Applying this to massage, creates a full body treatment (including head, face, hands and feet) that works to solve the root of the problem and not simply the manifesting symptoms.
Hot Stones Massage
Rooted in ancient traditional cultures Hot Stones are renowned for their powerful healing properties. The Basalt stones hand picked from volcanic regions in South America retain heat quickly acting as a powerful conductor of heat energy; creating deep relaxation, reduced muscle tension, improved circulation and flow of energy.
It is believed by many to be more beneficial than traditional massage due to the retention of heat and therefore continuing the healing long after the therapy is finished.
Indian Head Massage
It is based upon an Ayurvedic system of healing practiced in India for thousands of years as part of their daily lives. In keeping with this, it can simply be practiced on your kitchen chair helping one maintain a peaceful, calm yet invigorated and revitalized outlook in our everyday lives.
Pregnancy Massage
Pregnancy massage is a gentle approach which helps to ease the discomforts of the natural changes that happen throughout the journey of pregnancy by enhancing the physical and emotional well being of both the mother and the baby within.
Thai Massage
Thai massage is like yoga combined with acupressure. It uses a wide variety of stretching movements and pressure points to produce a uniquely relaxing yet energizing and highly effective therapeutic treatment.
It is an ancient holistic therapy that strives to promote wellness and vitality by helping the body return to a state of balance, harmony, flexibility, and health.
Acupressure Massage
A deep and strong massage based upon manipulating and releasing pressure points, meridians and the lymphatic system to allow the better flow of energy through the physical and subtle bodies, leaving you feeling vibrant, stress free and relaxed.
Aromatherapy Massage
Aromatherapy is the systematic use of essential oils in treatments
to improve physical and emotional well being and have been
used in healing for thousands of years.
Muscular tension often
indicates the presence of stress anxiety or tension and in
turn may indicate that the relaxing, calming and soothing elements
of massage are needed. This is combined with the physiological
and psychological effects of Aromatherapy to promote positive
health and a state of equilibrium.
Lymphatic Drainage
Manual Lymphatic drainage is a gentle rhythmical motion applied by light touch to the superficial lymphatic system which flows just beneath our skin.
Lymph is a translucent fluid that derives from our blood which serves to nourish our cells and cleanse the body of dead cells, bacteria and other waste products. It is believed to be most beneficial therapy for post surgical clients, those who lead a sedentary lifestyle and/or have a compromised immune system
Holistic Physiotherapy
Dating back as far as 3000B.C, Physiotherapy has been an ancient healing art.
By developing a dynamic relationship between the body and mind, through the fundamental concept of the breath, holistic physiotherapy utilizes a multi dimensional approach to promote, maintain and restore physical, psychological and social well-being.
For example, the physical symptom may be lower back pain but the root cause might be emotional such as stress, relationship or financial troubles.
As the body and mind work in harmony, natural functioning is achieved through breathing and relaxation therapy, deep tissue massage, acupressure, muscle energy techniques, bone awareness work and remedial movements.
Our practitioner, has a strong foundation in the knowledge of sport science as well as the holistic complements to the body and mind, which has a powerful influence on her practice of physiotherapy today.
Spiritual Healing, Reiki and Chakra Rebalancing
The body’s energy centres or charkas can become blocked
or unbalanced in a variety of ways such as physical or emotional
trauma. These obstructions slow down vital life force energy
or prevent it from flowing freely within the body.
Reiki is
a way of channelling universal life energy through our hands,
enabling the body to accelerate it’s own healing process.
By using reiki, energy blocks can be removed leaving the chakras
balanced and harmonized.
Vibrational Healing & Crystal Therapy
Vibrational healing is a holistic tailored therapy based on the principle that everything vibrates in the universe and that everything has its own unique vibrational frequency, including you and me. When you experience dis-ease it is because your vibrational frequency has been altered, either by external or internal factors, or both.
Vibrational medicine deals with the root of the imbalance employing different forms of energy, both electromagnetic and subtle life energy, to bring about healing changes, encouraging the person’s innate impulse to heal.
Crystals and gemstones can be used to assist in the healing process removing blockages in the subtle bodies. The result of this is that the flow of energy in and around the human body is regulated, restoring balance to the body’s energy system, leaving you feeling balanced and centred.
Homeopathy
Homeopathy is a science and art that was founded at the end of the 18th century. The word itself comes from homoeo meaning similar and pathos meaning suffering, whereby it follows the principle of ‘like cures like’. For example, one remedy that may be used to treat the symptoms of watery eyes in hay fever is alium cepa, a remedy made from the onion family. Homeopathy views dis-ease as an expression of the body’s healing power, so treating like for like will stimulate the ongoing healing process and help alter the stress impinging on the body.
